                          International Student Scholarship 2026

To attract outstanding international students and foster globally diverse academic community, Northwest A&F University (NWAFU) has established the Northwest A&F University International Student Scholarship. The scholarship supports talented students from around the world who wish to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees at NWAFU.

The scholarship prioritizes disciplines closely related to the University’s academic strengths, including Agricultural Sciences, Life Sciences, Natural Resources and Environmental Sciences, Food Science, Engineering and Technology, and Economics and Management. Through this scholarship, NWAFU aims to cultivate future leaders in these fields while promoting international academic collaboration and meaningful cross-cultural exchange.

I. Scholarship Categories

The Northwest A&F University International Student Scholarship offers two categories: Full Scholarship and Partial Scholarship..

  • 1. Full Scholarship

  • The full scholarship includes the following benefits:

  • Tuition waiver

  • Free on-campus accommodation

  • Comprehensive medical insurance

  • Monthly living allowance

Degree LevelMonthly Stipend

Doctoral students3,500 yuan/month

Master’s students3,000 yuan/month

Undergraduate students 2,500 yuan/month

The above stipend standards follow the reference guidelines of the Chinese Government Scholarship.

    Partial Scholarship

  • The partial scholarship includes:

  • Tuition waiver

  • Free accommodation

  • Comprehensive medical insurance

All other expenses are the responsibility of the student.

II. Scholarship Duration

The scholarship duration normally corresponds to the standard program length.

Master’s Programs 3 years

Undergraduate Programs 4 years (5 years for Veterinary Medicine)

The scholarship is subject to annual review. During their studies, students must comply with Chinese laws and university regulations, and maintain satisfactory academic performance and overall conduct to continue receiving the scholarship.

III. Eligibility

3. Comply with Chinese laws and university regulations

4. Possess a strong academic background and development potential

5. Not be receiving other scholarships simultaneously

IV. Language Requirements

For Chinese-taught programs, applicants must achieve HSK Level 4 or above.

For English-taught programs, applicants must meet one of the following:

IELTS 5.5 or above

TOEFL 79 or above

Applicants from countries where English is an official language may be exempted from submitting English proficiency certificates.

V. Application Materials

Applicants must submit the following documents:

1. Northwest A&F University International Student Scholarship Application Form

2. Copy of passport

3. Notarized highest diploma certificate

4. Notarized academic transcripts

5. Study plan or research proposal

6. Two recommendation letters from experts (for master’s and doctoral applicants)

7. Supervisor acceptance letter (for master’s and doctoral applicants)

8. Language proficiency certificate

9. Foreigner Physical Examination Form

10. Other supporting documents demonstrating academic ability

11. Police Clearance Certificate

Additional requirement for undergraduate applicants:

    12. CSCA examination certificate

All documents not in Chinese or English must be accompanied by a Chinese or English translation.

VI. Application Procedure

Applicants must complete the application according to the following steps:

Step 1: Online Application

Applicants must log in to the NWAFU International Student Application System, complete the application form, and upload the required documents.

Step 2: Document Review

The College of International Education reviews application materials for eligibility.

Step 3: Academic Evaluation

Relevant colleges organize experts to evaluate applicants’ academic background, research potential, and development prospects.

Step 4: University Approval

The International Student Admissions Committee reviews and approves the final admission list.

Step 5: Admission Notification

Successful applicants will receive an Admission Letter and Scholarship Award Letter issued by the University.

VII. Application Deadline

Application materials must be submitted before the deadline.
